The Eleventh Amendment states that the jurisdiction of the federal courts is limited. This is referring to the idea that people cannot sue a state in federal court if they are not a citizen of that state. The courts interpret this to say that states cannot be sued in federal court without their consent.

The Twelfth Amendment improves the electoral process in a way so that the president and vice president are elected seperately. This amendment was also added to insure that there was never another tie vote.
Amendment 13

The Thirteenth Amendment abolishes slavery all throughout the United States. No man or woman can be forced to work against their will unless as a legal punishment for a committed crime.
Amendment 14

The Fourteenth Amendment was created to resolve any issues that occured after the Civil War ended and slavery was abolished. All persons born in the U.S. are citizens, they will all have equal representation. This amendment also states that former Confederate leaders cannot hold office, and people who lent money to the Confederate states would not be paid back.

The Fifteenth Amendment discusses the voting rights of citizens. No person or state shall be denied their suffrage because of their race, color, or previous enslavement.

The Sixteenth Amendment allows Congress to tax the income of individuals. This amendment was only for the wealthy at first, but it eventually spread to all wage earners.
Amendment 17

The Seventeenth Amendment talks about the election of Senators. The direct election of Senators would be by a popular vote.

The Eighteenth Amendment is on the subject of the prohibition of liquor. Any production, sale, and transport of alcoholic beverages was then illegal within the United States.
Amendment 19

The ninteenth amendment guarantees women's suffrage. This amendment states that the right to vote shall not be denied to any person on account of their sex.
Amendment 20

The twentieth amendment discusses the terms of office. In the beginning, the president and vice president take office on January 20th. If a newly elected president should pass away or become unable to serve in office, the vice president would take his place.

The twenty-first amendment repeals the 18th amendment of the prohibition of alcohol. The states have the power to ban alcohol individually, and any beverages such as that are not to be brought into states that choose to hold that law.

The twenty-second amendment lists the presidency term limits. Based on past terms, Congress proposed a future limit of two terms for presidents.

The twenty-third amendment discusses the idea of electors for Washington D.C. This amendment gives citizens of D.C. the right to vote in presidential elections. Also, the Distirict of Columbia would be given the same number of presidential electors it would have if it was a state.

The twenty-fourth amendment bans poll taxes. That basically means that this amendment abolishes the previous fee hat a voter would pay in order to vote.

The twenty-fifth amendment speaks more about presidential succession. If something were to happen to the president (such as death or resignation), then the vice president would become president. In additon, if a vice presidency were to become vacant, the president could choose a new, approved vice president. Also, if a president was just temporarily unable to serve office, the vice president would take their place.

The twenty-sixth amendment changes the required voting age. What used to be a voting age of 21 years is now 18.

The twenty-seventh amendment discusses Congressional pay. If Congress chose to increase their salary, they would have to wait until after the next Congressional meeting.
